Ghost Riders Vineyard
The vineyard is situated on the famous Belford Dome of Limestone. Our wines are made 100% from grapes grown on our vineyard at 535 Hermitage Road , Pokolbin. The grapes are carefully hand picked (not machine harvested), from low yielding vines. The wines are hand made using traditional methods.
The shiraz is aged in French and American oak for approximately 15 months. The colour is an enticing deep purple and the wine exhibits classic Hunter Shiraz characters. We strive to achieve lovely fruit flavours with hints of cherry, chocolate, berries, Hunter earthiness and mild peppery spices.
We have produced the following wines: our first vintage 2002 Shiraz (SOLD OUT), 2003 shiraz, 2004 shiraz,
2005 shiraz and our outstanding 2007 Reserve Shiraz. We have also made a 2006 shiraz viognier, an outstanding medium bodied wine with mulberry/raspberry fruit and soft ripe tannins. Our 2006 (SOLD OUT) and 2007 chardonnays are lightly oaked, elegant fruit driven wines with hints of melon and peach flavours.
